4AG CHALLENGE SERIES RULES & REGULATION
The 4AG Challenge Class is intended to provide all 4AG enthusiasts with the opportunity to modify and compete for their 4AG engine suitable for racing competition.
In order to become eligible for championship race, participants must attend the Time Attack from the beginning of the year to collect points. The top six highest scoring participants for the year will be eligible to join the Final Championship Race.
Points will be awarded for each Time Attack & Final Race of the event according to the following scale:
1st: 10 points 2nd: 8 points 3rd: 6 points 4th: 5 points 5th: 4 points 6th: 3 points 7th: 2 points 8th~15th: 1 point
Every event will be presenting 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place Trophy. The Championship Trophy will be only presenting to the year champion who got the highest point stand. All 4AG Challenge Driver will receive a certificate.
The ONLY eligible motor for this competition will be the Toyota 4A-G engine. Tube Frame Chassis is legal.
Total minimum weight of the vehicle with 16V single throttle body shall not be less than 1780lbs without the driver.
All ITB 16/20V and Dual Carburetors must not weight less than 1860lbs without the driver.
All Turbo Charge, Supercharge & NOS must not weight less than 2450lbs without the driver.
Scrutineer team will weight all entry vehicles before & after the Time Attack and Final Race
All participants must meet their minimum weight requirement before they reach the Track.
All weight penalties must be secured properly.
No liquids will be acceptable as added weight penalty. Sand bags, metal steel etc, is acceptable.
Sand bags must be put in a metal box. The metal box must be bolted in place. Metal steel weight must be bolted in place. **You must prepare the Sand Bags or Metal Plate your own, organizer will not provide and weight**
The following modification items are permitted to 4AG Challenge Vehicle. All items must be secure inside the vehicle. Any engine component must be within the engine compartment. Overhaul procedures that can increase engine performance is permitted; e.g. porting, blueprinting, balancing etc.
A. Any exhaust systems is permitted. B. Exhaust header is free.
A. Any flywheel and any pressure plates are permitted. B. Clutch disc is unrestricted.
A. Any Oil Cooler is permitted. B. Large size Aluminum radiator is permitted.
· Gear ratios can be changed. · Final ratio is free.
· Coil over suspension is permitted. · Spring rates are free. · Tender or Helper springs are unrestricted. · Any size of Sway Bars is permitted. · Any modifications to original lower control arms are permitted.
6. Brakes
· Any brake lines may be fitted. · Big brake kit if installed, 50lbs must be added to total minimum weight requirement for vehicle · Any brake pads are permitted.
7. Wheels & Tires
· Wheels: Any rim size permitted. · Tires: Tire width must not exceed 225mm. e.g. 225/50R15, 225/40R17, 225/45R16 or 205/50/R15 etc. Any tire compounds is permitted.
· Body Style is FREE. · All vehicle light lenses are recommended to tape. · All vehicles must have the car number clearly marked on both sides of the car body or rear side window. All numbers must at least 10 in height and of a color which contracts sharply with the cars color.
· All drivers must wear a SA2000 or higher helmet. · For Time Attack only a 3 point stock seat belt required. · All Drivers must wear driving gloves and Shoes.
9a. Final Championship Race
· All drivers must wear a SA2000 or higher helmet. (full Face helmet is recommended)
· A 6 point safety Roll Cage with side protection bars must be installed.
· 5 point/ 6 point harness must be meet SFI specification 16.1 or FIA specification 8853/98 and 8854/98. All those harness must included a 3 inch seat belts and 3 inch shoulder belts. (only separate shoulder straps are permitted) Y type or V type shoulder straps are not allowed. H type configuration is allowed. A single anti submarine strap of 5 point harness or double leg straps of the 6 point system must be attaching to the shoulder harness straps.
· SFI specification 16.1 systems shall not be more than 5 years old.
· FIA specification 8853/98 and 8854/98 restraint system will only have an expiration date label on every single strap.
· Window safety nets shall be used on the driver side window of all closed cockpit cars. Open cockpit cars shall be used an Arm Restraints on both arms.
· Fire Extinguishing must be installed with minimum 10 BC. (on-broad fire systems are recommended)
· All drivers who enter the final race must wear a 2 layers Nomex Driving Suit. All driving suit must be FIA specification 8865-2000 or 8856-1986 or SFI Standard 3-2A/5 and higher.
· All drivers must wear fire-retardant driving shoes and gloves. All gloves and shoes must contain no holes.
· All cars shall be equipped with a master battery kill switch. The switch shall be easily accessible from outside the car. It shall be clearly marked by the international marking of a spark in a blue triangle and mounted in a standard location.
